We gladly accept bicycle donations of all kinds, no matter their condition. Whether your bike is in perfect working order or in need of repairs, we can find a way to put it to good use. We refurbish and reuse what we can, giving bikes a second life, and for those that are beyond repair, we ensure that parts are properly recycled. Your donation not only helps us promote sustainable transportation but also supports our mission to make bicycles accessible to more people in need.
Parts
The Re-Cyclery accepts used bike parts of all types, from wheels and frames to handlebars and derailleurs. Parts like tires, chains, gears, and brakes are great candidates for reuse. However, parts like worn-out helmets, rusted spokes, and damaged frames are beyond repair. For these non-reusable items, we ensure they are properly recycled to reduce waste and support sustainability efforts. Your donations help us create a more eco-friendly cycling community!
accessories
We also accept used cycling accessories like water bottles, grips, fenders, cycling clothing, accessible locks, and bike lights, which can be refurbished or repurposed for others to enjoy. However, accessories like damaged helmets, worn-out gloves, or frayed bike straps are not suitable for reuse. For these items, we ensure they are responsibly disposed of or recycled to minimize environmental impact. Your donations help us keep cycling sustainable and accessible to everyone!
Donation Pick Up
We offer convenient donation pick-up! If you're unable to drop off your items at one of our locations, just schedule a pick-up, and we'll come to you! For donations of fewer than 6 bikes, we kindly ask for a $10 fee to help cover travel costs. You can easily pay via our link with Square or PayPal.
Volunteer night
Volunteer Night at The Re-Cyclery is every Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and no mechanical experience is required to help out. Volunteers can assist by breaking down bikes, sorting parts for recycling or reuse, cleaning the shop, and organizing the space. Those with the necessary experience and approval can also build bikes. It's a great opportunity to connect with others in the cycling community while contributing to the shop's mission.

The monthly Bike Breakdown event at the Innovation Barn is a hands-on opportunity for newcomers to the bike shop to learn how to properly disassemble bikes. It's perfect for those who haven't volunteered in the shop yet and want some extra guidance in assessing parts for usability and recycling. Volunteers will receive guidance from our shop staff and experienced volunteers in a supportive environment, helping them gain confidence in bike mechanics and develop new skills.
